How to Become a Student Ambassador

Eligibility:
All full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Crop Sciences who have attended UIUC for at least one semester, and who have maintained a minimum of a 2.5 GPA are eligible to apply for membership.
Selection:
Students are selected based on an application and interview. Students with demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, and an interest in meeting and hosting diverse groups of people are encouraged to apply. All current members wishing to continue their service are required to reapply annually. The application and selection process will occur at the beginning of the spring semester. The selection committee will consist of the Crop Sciences Teaching Coordinator, all outgoing senior Ambassadors, and any Crop Sciences faculty that the Teaching Coordinator wishes to appoint. The committee will select at least eight students to become the Crop Sciences Student Ambassadors for the following year.
Term of Service:
Students selected to be the new Crop Sciences Student Ambassadors will begin their term of service immediately after being selected and will continue until the selection process is completed the following year.
Applications:
Ambassador Applications will be made available in AE-120 by the beginning of the spring semester. If you are interested in applying or have questions about applying, please contact the Teaching Coordinator (Dr. Kolb) or one of the Ambassadors.
